Dahlia are amazing perennials. If planted in a free draining location and mulched well against winter frosts they can be perennial -coming up again and again for years. I would suggest dividing every 3 years in spring when you can easily see the new shoots, and completely lifting in Autumn if you have big frosts.

We use Daliha's for;

• cut and drop mulch.
• pollinator food.
• succession in food forests/hedgerows.
• sheltering plants that need a little afternoon shade.
• edible tubers -although we prefer yacon.

These dahlias are selected for strong growth. Each tuber will be a different colour and you cannot select colours. No varieties are named some are collected from our local crop swap and others grown from seed.
