4 x poles approximately 1m long.

Kinuyanagi is a very productive shrub willow. It is a sterile male hybrid so will not seed.

Poles will be sent out in winter. Push into soil up to 40cm and mulch. These willows are quick to establish. If you cannot plant out straight away sit in a shady place in a bucket of water.

We use them for;

  • making willow houses.
  • early pollen source for bees.
  • in the establishment of hedgerows.
  • whittling and making handles and bows.
  • mycorrhizal bridge species between arbuscular mycorrhizal fungi and ectomycorrhizal fungi.
  • stock fodder -less tannins that other species so very palatable and it keeps its leaves for longer.
  • ramial wood chips -very easy to put through a mulcher.
  • firewood for rocket stoves and fire baths.
  • succession in a hedgerow/riparian planting.
